Clermont stalwart Fofana signs four-year contract extension
Wesley Fofana has been at Clermont Auvergne since 2008 and is now set to remain at the club beyond his 35th birthday.
France back Wesley Fofana has signed a four-year contract extension with Clermont Auvergne, providing the club with a significant boost on the eve of the new Top 14 season.
Fofana’s new deal means he is committed to remaining at Stade Marcel Michelin until June 2023.
The 30-year-old has spent his entire professional career to date with Clermont and is delighted to be staying with the 2017 French champions.
“I realise that this is an incredible chance for a player to evolve in front of an audience as extraordinary as that of the Michelin, to feel this passion every time we defend our colours,” said Fofana.

Clermont begin their 2018-19 season with a home game against Agen on Saturday.
