Stormers set to snatch Brits ahead of Bulls
Springbok and former Saracens hooker Schalk Brits looks set to turn out for the Stormers rather than the Bulls come next year’s Super Rugby.
It was believed that the Bulls were not only interested, but were most likely to sign Brits, earlier this year. However Netwerk 24 reports that the Stormers have won the race for thew the 37 year old front rower.
Brits’ return to South Africa was a surprise to all earlier this year, as Bok coach Rassie Erasmus lured him back, after he initially announced a retirement from all rugby.
Brits then played his 11th cap against England earlier this year, further acting as a mentor during the Rugby Championship. He was then included in Erasmus’ Barbarians squad to face Argentina on Tuesday.
Brits in playing for the Stormers next year will experience a third run with them, having represented them from 2006-2009 and then shortly in 2011.
