Late Sunwolves try buries Bulls

Jesse Kriel scored two tries and Handre Pollard 22 points but it wasn’t enough as the Bulls lost 42-37 to the Sunwolves.

The hosts led 14-0 in the first quarter but it was the Bulls who recovered to take a 21-14 halftime lead thanks to Kriel and Pollard.

Pollard extended the lead to 24-14 and the Bulls looked comfortable at 31-21 midway through the second half.

However, the final quarter belonged to the Sunwolves, with the match winning try coming in the final few minutes.

The Sunwolves scored six tries to the Bulls’s four.

The Sunwolves, boosted with recruits from New Zealand and South Africa, this year have beaten the Stormers and Bulls and lost by just two points to the Lions in Johannesburg. The win was just their third of the campaign.
