Wellington to host All Blacks vs Springboks pre-RWC clash
The Springboks will travel to Wellington in 2019, just two months before the Rugby World Cup in Japan, to take on the All Blacks at Westpac Stadium.
In what will be a condensed Rugby Championship, The Springboks will be looking to continue 2019 in Wellington in the same vain as 2018, where they won historically for the first time at Westpac Stadium in a thrilling 36-34 clash.
Matt Evans, boss of Wellington rugby, expressed his excitement about the match, saying:
“It’s fantastic for the whole Wellington region that All Blacks fans will still get to experience Test match rugby at Westpac Stadium in a reduced Investec Rugby Championship schedule,” Evans said.
“It also gives fans a great opportunity to see the defending World Champions first hand before they head to Japan. As this year’s enthralling Investec Rugby Championship Test in Wellington demonstrated, South Africa are a fantastic opponent.”
The game will take place on July 27th 2019
