Kolisi claims Laureus award
Springbok captain Siya Kolisi has won the Laureus Sports Moment of the Month for July.
In June Kolisi made history becoming the first black Springbok (Test match) captain as he led the side out against England at Ellis Park, the moment he was subsequently nominated for.
The award, a newly launched initiative by Laureus, honours athletes’ achievements and the public votes on four nominees.
The winners from March to December will then automatically qualify to win the Laureus Moment of the Year, which will be announced at the Laureus 2019 ceremony.
Kolisi went on to lead the Boks to a 2-1 series win against England.
