Saints thrash Worcester to go sixth
Cobus Reinach and Luther Burrell scored intercept tries and Dan Biggar had a good outing at the tee in a comfortable win for Northampton.
Dan Biggar booted 20 points as Northampton Saints eased to a 32-6 victory at Worcester Warriors to go sixth in the Premiership on Friday.
The Saints were awarded a 28-0 bonus-point win over Timisoara Saracens earlier in the day as part of the Romanian club’s punishment for the cancellation of their European Challenge Cup clash last Saturday due to heavy snow.
Chris Boyd’s side showed no signs of rust after a weekend off, taking a 12-3 lead into the break courtesy of four Biggar penalties to one from Duncan Weir at Sixways.
Weir cut the gap to just six points from the tee, but the rapid Cobus Reinach ran almost the length of the pitch after intercepting a loose pass to score the opening try.
Luther Burrell also intercepted for a long-range try in the closing stages and Wales fly-half Biggar converted after he was on target with another two penalties in an emphatic win for the Saints, which sees Worcester slip to 10th.
