Van Zyl among seven Springboks changes
Rassie Erasmus has made seven changes to his South Africa side, bringing in Ivan van Zyl as well as regulars including Warren Whiteley.
Ivan van Zyl will make his second South Africa start against England after Rassie Erasmus made seven changes to his side for Saturday’s Test match.
Bulls scrum-half Van Zyl has been given the nod by Erasmus, with Damian Willemse – starting for the first time – and Sbu Nkosi also coming into the Springboks back-line narrowly beaten by New Zealand last month.
Van Zyl’s full South Africa bow came against Wales in Washington DC in June.
Warren Whiteley, who missed the end of the Rugby Championship with a groin injury, and Duane Vermeulen come back in alongside captain Siya Kolisi in a new-look back row for this Twickenham clash.
Pieter-Steph du Toit moves to the second row to join Stormers team-mate Eben Etzebeth.
Director of rugby Erasmus said of the clash: “England will be desperate to win this one at Twickenham and they will select a formidable side. This match will be a hugely tactical affair.”
