Jean-Luc Du Preez injury blow for the Sharks
The Sharks have suffered a huge blow ahead of their clash with the Stormers on Saturday, with the news that Springbok loose forward Jean-Luc Du Preez will be out with an injury.
There is also major doubt surrounding Du Preez’s availability for the Sharks final match the following week against the Jaguares.
Du Preez left the field early this past weekend during the Sharks’ clash against the Lions, with which would later be confirmed as an MCL sprain. The Sharks, promisingly, were able to go on to win the match without the services of Du Preez.
In better news for the Durban franchise, hooker Akker Van Der Merwe is expected to be fit for the Stormers clash following a shoulder niggle suffered during the Lions game.
The Sharks currently stand 3rd in the South African Conference and 9th overall and will be hunting down the Rebels for the 8th spot in order to secure a wild card qualification for the playoffs. They will need to win both of their last two matches in order to do so.
