Stormers United Rugby Championship 2026/27 Fixtures

The Stormers again face their bogey teams Glasgow Warriors and Leinster in next season’s United Rugby Championship. They have never won in Glasgow or Dublin in the history of the competition.

Stormers United Rugby Championship 2026/27 Fixtures will again demand the Capetonians win where they never have if they are to make a stronger challenge for a top two finish.

The Stormers, winners of the first title, finished third in the league this season. They led the table with two rounds to go but drew and lost away from home to Ulster and Cardiff.

The lack of a win in those fixtures was consistent with a historical return where they have never won those matches away from home.

Looking at their away record, they will have to break new ground for a different league position. They will also need to improve on their away record to go past 12 wins in the 18 URC league matches. In the five seasons of the competition, 12 is the most wins they have got in a regular season.

This season they started with eight successive league wins, but won just four of their last 10 matches.

Historically, the Stormers’ toughest league away trips among the 2026/27 fixtures have been:

Glasgow Warriors 0 – 2 away losses
Leinster – 2 away losses
Sharks – 2 away losses

The Warriors have also beaten the Stormers twice in quarter-finals in Glasgow.

There was a draw against a weakened Leinster in Dublin.

The positive for the Stormers is they have not lost away in Wales to:

Ospreys
Dragons RFC.

The Stormers, along with the Bulls, had the best points differential (160) in the league, and several of their individuals topped individual categories.

The Stormers No 10 Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu was the league’s leading points scorer with 158 points, which included nine tries. No 8 Evan Roos was the top try-scorer with 12 and flanker Paul de Villiers was among the elite turnover exponents.

The Stormers, along with the Bulls and Lions, scored more than 500 points.

But the Stormers fell short in bonus points and their defence leaked 15 tries in their last three league matches.

They host Cardiff in the quarter-finals on 30th May and if successful in all likelihood will play Leinster in Dublin. Leinster are expected to beat the Lions in the quarter-finals.
