Keo URC Boks Weekly Form Team – Round 18
Mark Keohane picks the 15 South African players who stood out in their respective positions in the latest United Rugby Championship League action.
Not one Stormers player makes the Keo URC Boks Weekly Form Team from Round 18, but plenty Bulls are on the charge.
Keo URC Boks Weekly Form Team.
The Lions, desperate against Munster in Limerick but not clinical or accurate enough, have just the one player in No 8 and captain Francke Horn.
For the rest the weekend belonged to the Bulls and the Sharks.
There is always context to these matches. Both teams played the two Italian clubs who have had horror seasons. Zebre, in particular, have been awful in winning just two from 18 matches. They conceded 54 points to the Bulls two Saturdays ago and last Saturday conceded 54 to the Sharks. They have the worst defensive record in the URC and have conceded the most points.
Benetton, whose season high is beating Leinster in Round 16, were hammered by the Sharks 41-7, having trailed 41-0 after 77 minutes. On Saturday, they conceded 45 points to the Bulls in losing 45-19.
The Stormers were poor in losing to Cardiff and not one of their players made a compelling individual statement in losing for the third successive time playing Cardiff at the Arms Park.
The Stormers finished the season third, the Bulls were fourth and the Lions seventh. The Sharks were eliminated from the Race to Eight play-offs three weeks ago.
