Sexton back in full Ireland training
Following a head injury against Scotland, Johnny Sexton is fit again and in the running to play for Ireland in Italy.
Johnny Sexton has returned to full training following his head injury last week, Ireland defence coach Andy Farrell has confirmed.
The World Rugby Player of the Year took a blow in Ireland’s win against Scotland at Murrayfield and failed a head injury assessment, keeping him out of the rest of the match.
But Farrell expects the defending Six Nations champions will have fly-half Sexton available again on February 24 in Italy after he made his return in training.
“Johnny is fine. He trained fully [on Friday] and will be ready to go,” said Farrell, who will replace Joe Schmidt as Ireland head coach later this year.
“He has had no symptoms at all, no complaints throughout the week.”
